Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars is a turn-based strategy video game developed by Jon Van Caneghem through New World Computing and published in 1996 by the 3DO Company.The game is the second installment of the Heroes of Might and Magic series and is typically credited as the breakout game for the series. Installing on 64-bit versions of Windows[edit]

The original disc release uses a 16-bit installer.

2. Download Winevdm.
3. Extract it Somewhere
4. Click on otvdmw.exe then look for SETUP.EXE
5. You may get a 'SEGV' error and if that's the case just click on continue
6. Follow the Prompts

2. Extract it somewhere
3. Copy ddraw.dll to your installation folder (where you installed the game at)
4. Right click on HEROES2W.exe and go to properties
5. On Compatibility Mode Select Windows 98 / Windows ME
6. Click on Reduced colour mode and set it to '16-Bit (65536) Colour'
7. Also Click on 'Run this Program as an Administrator
8. Click Apply and OK
9. Run the game

Start up from macOS Recovery

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:
